Note: By entering this event, the player hereby agrees and acknowledges that any person shall have the rights to:

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY


  1. It is expected that players will have read, and are familiar with the ‘Conditions of Entry’ prior to submitting an entry.
  2. This event will be played using the Alternative Service Law 9.1.6:
  1. the whole shuttle shall be below the server’s waist at the instant of being hit by the server’s racket. The waist shall be considered to be an imaginary line around the body, level with the lowest part of the server’s bottom rib; and
  2. the shaft and the racket head of the server’s racket at the instant of hitting the shuttle shall be pointing in a downward direction.
  1. All questions as to the rules shall be resolved by the tournament organiser.
  2. RSL Tourni shuttles will be used.
  3. The tournament organiser reserves the right to:
  1. Cancel or alter the event in which fewer than 24 individual entries are received.
  2. CMBA has the right to combine grades if there are insufficient entries.
  3. Change the scoring of the event if time constraints require.
  4. Default a player who is not available to play at the scheduled time.
  1. If you cannot play, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. The replacement player MUST be of a similar grade. If the organisers feel that the replacement player is of a higher grade, the player will automatically move down a box for the following week.
  2. When using a replacement player of a similar grade that has been approved, the player/pair can not be promoted to the higher box even if they win all their matches however, they can be relegated to a lower box.
  3. A reasonable number of shuttles will be provided for each match. If there are insufficient shuttles to finish the match, players will need to provide the shortfall.


DRAW

  1. The box draws will be published every (Wednesday) at 2 pm, and will be available on www.countiesbadminton.co.nz.



PLAYER REQUIREMENTS

  1. Players must report to the Tournament Controller upon arrival and must obtain permission to leave the hall.
  2. Players will be defaulted if they are not on court ready to play within 10 minutes of being called.
  3. Players must wear non-marking shoes.
  4. Players compete at their own risk. No responsibility will be accepted for any injury received during the tournament.



                    

Entry Details

  1. Entry can only be made online and must be received no later than 11.59pm on 4th May 2025 (Sunday). Online entry is available via www.cmba.helloclub.com or Counties Manukau A,B,C Box Doubles 2025 | Badminton New Zealand
  2. Pairs are placed in a box system based on their grade as entered. CMBA has the right to re-grade pairs should they feel they have been entered incorrectly. Men and Women are combined into the same boxes so please consider this when entering into a grade. Pair entries can be 2 x Men, 2 x Women or 1 x Man, 1 x Women.  
  3. You may enter Partner required with the Tournament Organiser contacting you to confirm your partner entering you as a pair.
  4. Players are divided into boxes of 4. Each night you will play all other players/pairs in your box. You will play matches best of 3 games to 21 points with setting. The pair with the most wins will move up a box the following week and the pair with the least amount of wins will move down a box. If more than one pair have the same amount of wins then it is calculated on the most sets and if still equal it is calculated by the biggest difference in points for and against.
  5. Entries are limited to 24 pairs of A,B or C grade level, (no beginners please).
  6. Entry is not confirmed until the entry and the entry fee of both players are received (except for “partner required”) entries prior to the closing date.
  7. Players withdrawing after the close of entries will receive a refund of entry fees, less any administration fees, only on the submission of a medical certificate. No refunds will be made for withdrawals after the tournament has commenced.
  8. A $10 administration fee will be deducted from all eligible refunds.

  1. Allow at least two working days for payments to be processed through the banking system.
  2. The entry fee must be in Counties Manukau Badminton Association’s bank account by Tuesday 6th May at 11:59 pm, or the player will be withdrawn from the event.


PRIZES

  1. Vouchers or Cash prizes to the value of $500 will be awarded to the winner & runner-up of the competition, as well as spot prizes. 
  2. The winner and runner-up will be awarded to the pair who has the most points differential for and against over the 6 weeks allowing anyone of any grade to win.
